is it possible to tear/rupture intercostal muscles/fascia from coughing?

I had a bad cold with cough 3 weeks ago. I had a bad coughing spell and shortly after felt severe pain upon inspiration. Imy lungs are clear now but the pain on my right side below right breast still hurts. When I do cough I have to hold my side.
